RECORD AND REVERSE
Record and reverse microphone audio
Record a short voice phrase or sound through your microphone. Listen to the original and reversed versions, then download an MP3 or WAV. You control microphone permission in your browser.
Record from your microphone
Press Record audio to capture a short clip. You can also choose a file.
Video: MP4, MOV, or WebM with sound, up to 30 MB and 5 minutes. Only the audio is reversed and downloaded; no video picture is edited or exported. Files are processed on your device. You can also drop a file here.
First time here? Read the 3-step guide. Working with a file? Reverse an MP3 or audio file. Using your mic? Record and reverse audio.
Listen & compare
Press play on either version when you're ready.
Keep the result
Save your backwards audio as an MP3 or WAV file.
Once your clip is ready, try reverse singing mode, or follow the 3-step reverse audio guide for your next recording.
Reverse singing mode
Hear the reversed clip, then record your version.
Use headphones. Speakers can leak the clip into your microphone and distort the comparison.
How to record and reverse a sound
Allow the microphone
Press Record audio and respond to your browser's microphone permission prompt. Recording starts after permission is granted. A visible timer and level meter appear while the microphone is active.
Stop and check the original
Speak a short phrase or make a simple sound, then press Stop recording. Play the original first. If it is silent, too quiet, or distorted, press Record again and try a new take.
Hear and save the reversed clip
Play Reversed to hear the captured audio backwards. Download the result as MP3 or WAV before closing the page or starting a new recording.
Getting a clearer recording
A quiet room helps the microphone capture a clean clip. Keep a little distance from loud speakers to avoid distortion, and test with a few seconds before recording a longer phrase. The tool shows a peak-level hint after recording, but it cannot remove background noise or repair clipping.
Microphone access requires browser permission and a secure connection. If permission is denied or times out, check your browser's site permission and try again. For an existing voice memo or MP3, choose a file above or visit the audio-file page.
Microphone questions
Is the recording uploaded?
The audio processing happens in your browser. The tool does not upload the recording to its server. Read the privacy policy for site-level details.
Can I reverse live microphone sound?
This tool records a clip first and reverses it after you stop. It does not reverse live input while you speak.
What if the reversed clip sounds odd?
That is often the effect of playing a recording in reverse. Check the original player to separate recording noise from the reversal. Reversing changes time order; it does not translate speech.
